HF4U – Skills & Schools (S&S)
HF4U – Skills & Schools (S&S)
HF4U has teamed up with Family Learning to work on the Skills and Schools project. S&S is delivered in 20 schools across Manchester and was established in 2007.
HF4U is delivered in the same way as the other programmes. 3 school-based workshops followed by 3 half-day visits. These are to either Manchester Metropolitan University or The University of Manchester, to a business for a world of work visit and finally a graduation. The element that makes S&S different to other HF4U programmes is that a family learning calendar runs parallel to the children’s learning.
This programme is open to any adult with a child in one of the 20 S&S schools. The family learning is aimed at helping adults get back into education or employment at the same time as raising awareness of the opportunities in their own community.
The family learning is done through three workshops based on similar topics to those in HF4U. After these, more tailored work on a one-to-one basis is completed with one of our family learning workers.
S&S is currently funded until 2010
