HF4U – Greater Manchester Challenge (GMC)

 

This two-year funded programme is delivered across all 10 areas of Greater Manchester. Over the 2 years 20 schools in each area will complete HF4U – GMC

 

A dedicated HF4U worker will be based in each of the 4 local universities: Manchester Metropolitan University, The University of Bolton, The University of Manchester and The University of Salford. Each University is responsible for the following areas:

 

Manchester Metropolitan University – Rochdale, Tameside & Oldham

The University of Bolton – Bolton & Wigan

The University of Manchester – Manchester, Stockport & Trafford

The University of Salford – Salford & Bury

 

The Greater Manchester Challenge is a three-year programme (2008-2011) to improve educational outcomes for young people in Greater Manchester delivered in partnership between Government, schools, local authorities and all those working to raise education standards.

The Challenge will incorporate all aspects of the school system, including teachers, pupils, leaders and local as well as national strategic partnerships within the education system. It will cover and be delivered in partnership with the ten Greater Manchester local authorities of Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan.
