Family

blogblog

The whole event is about having fun with your child and allowing them to show you what they have been doing in school. However, lots of people have questions about it, so I have written some of the more frequently asked ones below. If you have any other question feel free to contact us.

  • Do I need to be their Mum or Dad?
    • No, thatís why it is a ‘family event’. Any member of the family is invited.
  • Can more than one adult come?
    • Yes! In fact the more the merrier! I was once at a family event where we had 4 generations of one family! The only restriction is that you can’t be of school age. (4–16)
  • Will I need to do any Literacy, Numeracy or Science?
    • No, for all of the activities you will be working with your child and there is no requirement to write anything if you don’t want to. Any of the games that require writing are run as group games (which your children have already done.) All of the activities are about talking and discussing ideas with your child.
  • Do I need to bring anything with me?
    • No.
  • What do I do when I get to the school?
    • The school office knows where the Higher Futures 4U family event will be held so just go through the front door and ask at the office for the Higher Future 4U Family event.
    • You can sit anywhere you like and your child will join you shortly (if they are not already there!)
  • Will I be made to talk in front of the group?
    • No, we always ask for volunteers to give their ideas and answers. There is no pressure to say anything in front of the group.

“I thought the workshop and the activities were interesting and fun and I think this experience will help me to help both of my children with their futures.”
