  • How can my school get involved?
    • Higher Futures 4U is open to all primary schools. If you would like more information on training events and the project content then please contact the Centre for Urban Education directly.
  • How much does it cost?
    • This depends on the level of support your school wants. However, we are always looking to secure funding which allows us to offer the project at a subsidised rate.
  • How long will the project last?
    • It takes 1 term to complete the project; but with the extra curriculum lesson plans you can spread the resources over the whole year.
  • Will I need training?
    • Yes, the initial teacher training covers all aspects of teaching the school based workshops as well as providing all of the resources. It is essential to attend this training.
  • Which year group is the project aimed at?
    • Years 4, 5 and 6.
  • What will the children and our school get out of Higher Futures 4U?
    • Higher Futures 4U meets the ‘Every Child Matters’ Achieving Economic wellbeing strand.
    • It also raises awareness of different routes in post 16 education, and employment opportunities. This leads to improved self-belief in the children.
    • It provides new teaching techniques and links with higher education institutions.
  • Do I need any prior knowledge or skills to take part in Higher Futures 4U?
    • No. Full training is provided for every teacher that is taking part in Higher Futures 4U. The most important quality you need is lots of enthusiasm and energy.
